I’m S. McKinley Akins, a multidisciplinary video creative, creative producer, and sound designer. Through Minister Akins Studio, I shape motion and sound into immersive projects—drawing on expertise in editing, post-production, and sound design across social, digital, editorial, and experimental formats.

I’ve worked in-house for Coach and collaborated with brands like Converse and Ssense, balancing brand identity with creative innovation. Whether leading campaign productions or crafting behind-the-scenes recaps, my work merges striking visuals with emotional depth to create lasting impact.

Alongside commercial collaborations, my studio practice explores presence, identity, and emotional architecture through video art, self-portraiture, and soundscape experiments—bringing a refined sensory depth to each piece. I’m interested in how sound and motion can capture what words often leave behind. Based in NYC, I continue to evolve, offering a chic yet dynamic approach to every collaboration.
